What Happens Next?

  1. We'll contact you

We'll help you choose the best beginner-friendly class.

  2. Come in for your £5 trial

Meet your coach, learn some BJJ and experience the academy.

  3. Decide whether BJJ is for you

No pressure or obligation to join.

A few questions before you start.

I'm really unfit. Can I still start?

Yes. You don't need to get fit before starting BJJ.

I've never done martial arts.

Perfect. Our Fundamentals classes are specifically suitable for beginners. View classes and timetable.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable training clothes without zips or buttons. For Gi classes, we can loan you a Gi for your trial session.

Am I too old?

Adults start BJJ at many different ages. Tell us a little about yourself when we contact you, and we'll help you choose a suitable first class.

Will I have to fight/spar on my first day?

No. You are welcome to sit out any part of the class you do not want to take part in, including sparring. Your £5 trial is a chance to meet your coach, learn some BJJ and experience the academy at a level you are comfortable with.

Do I have to join afterwards?

No obligation—the £5 session is an opportunity to experience the academy.
