Most of all they will learn to love embracing challenges and learning to work to overcome them. This allows the use of grips and submissions using the Gi which can simulate clothing in a self defence situation. No Gi classes are conducted in grappling gear as opposed to the kimono and teach students how to adapt their Jiu Jitsu for use without the grips that the Gi offers.
